A fabulous antique Victorian heart locket from the late-19th Century featuring a beautiful spiral motif etched on the front with glossy, indigo-blue guilloche enamel overlaid on top. A pearl studded star can also be seen on the left as if twinkling in a dark-blue sky.
Stars were a popular lucky charm to be wished upon in the late 19th Century and were said to guide you on the path to your dreams, or in the case of this locket, your one true love whose picture resides within.
The piece is fashioned in sterling silver with some remnants of gold-gilt inside and around the edges. It’s in excellent condition and is complete with gold rims and windows within ready to house two beloved photographs so they remain forever close to your heart.
