A large antique Victorian cuff bangle from the late 19th Century modelled in silver with a beautiful floral centrepiece of leaves, flowers and forget me nots highlighted in yellow and rose gold, with ivy leaves chased on either side.
Forget me nots were a popular motif in the Victorian era and symbolic of eternal love and remembrance. They were often paired with ivy leaves which similarly represented an unbreakable bond, as in the Victorian rhyme “Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart I cling to thee”.
It’s an imposing statement piece that has developed a lovely smoothness with age and is held by a large box clasp at the side.
