An enchanting antique Victorian moonstone bracelet, adorned with fifteen cabochon moonstones that graduate in size, from approx. 0.80 - 4ct. They each have a semi-transparent appearance with a ghostly blue glow, known as a schiller, that shimmers across the surface as it catches the light.
The mystifying moonstone derives its name from the stone’s ethereal, luminescent light that was once believed to be moonlight in solid form. In Greek mythology they were associated with Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and said to be a path to love, wisdom and new beginnings.
Each moonstone is bezel set in a rosy 9ct gold frame with links connecting them and is held by a box clasp. This is a fabulous antique Victorian bracelet, dating to the late 19th Century and exhibits a mesmerising collection of natural moonstones.
