This elegant antique Victorian Art Nouveau opal pendant is crafted in bright 18ct yellow gold and features an open-work gallery of graceful scrolling motifs. At its centre glows a vivid natural opal cabochon, alive with shifting hues of blue, green, and orange, while a second adorns a delicate dropper below.
Opal is the birthstone of October and was considered a symbol of luck, creativity, and passion in the Victorian era. Its enchanting opalescence shimmers with living colour, revealing hues that dance like a rainbow or the Aurora Borealis captured in a gemstone form.
Dating to the late 19th Century, this special Art Nouveau opal pendant is a fabulous piece of Victorian heritage that has remained in excellent condition. It’s accompanied by a fabulous 9ct gold rope chain to display it on, complete with a secure, engraved tube clasp.
