This large, round antique Victorian pearl portrait locket dates to the late 19th Century and features two round glass windows on each side, held in place by a rosy 15ct gold rim and frame, with a captivating halo of bright natural pearls shimmering around the outside, including one perched atop the loop.

Pearls are the birthstone of June and a true treasure of the ocean, produced organically by fresh and saltwater molluscs. Their spherical shape and exceptional lustre have long been associated with the beauty of the moon and are symbolic of grace, purity and loyalty.

This charming Victorian pearl locket offers space within for two cherished photographs, one on each side, with domed glass windows that subtly magnify the images and create the illusion of depth. It’s been preserved in excellent condition and is perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of Victorian jewellery.
