A pretty antique mid-Victorian bar brooch depicting two swallows in flight. They’re fashioned in 9ct gold and dotted with gleaming white seed pearls along the body and wings.
Swallows are known to mate for life and said to always return home to the nest, making them a powerful symbol of everlasting love, joy and faithfulness. They were especially popular in the Victorian era and gifted as romantic tokens by lovers during long periods of separation.
The slender bar has a beautiful wave to it and is fitted with a pin and safety chain to hold it securely. It would make a darling gift for a loved one and has a wonderful sentiment attached.
