A grand antique Victorian cuff bangle fashioned in sterling silver with a large belt and buckle along the front chased with a detailed ivy leaf pattern.
The belt's infinite loop and secure buckle was a popular symbol of eternal love and commitment in the Victorian era. Ivy similarly represented an unbreakable bond, as in the Victorian rhyme “Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart I cling to thee”.
It’s a striking statement piece with a secure box clasp at the side and Birmingham hallmarks on the inside dating the piece to 1883.
