A fabulous 1920s opera necklace made up of polished carnelian beads with faceted rock crystal links in between. The carnelian beads are glossy and smooth and display orange, peach and amber hues with the stones natural bands and layers showing beneath their translucent surface.
Carnelian is a form of chalcedony, nicknamed the “Sunset stone” due to its fiery orange, red or brown colouring that beautifully imitates the warm glow of the sun, bringing feelings of warmth and joy to all in its presence.
It’s a long necklace measuring 28.5 inches and the beads graduate in size toward the bottom with a secure barrel clasp at the top. It’s remained in excellent condition and the beads look magnificent draped around the neck.
