A magnificent vintage amethyst bracelet, showcasing thirteen graduating oval-cut amethysts claw set in silver frames and gilded in radiant 18ct yellow gold vermeil. The gemstones display a velvety deep-purple hue with exceptional saturation, creating a striking contrast against the bright golden settings.
Prized by kings and royalty throughout history, amethyst has long symbolised wisdom, protection and clarity. Legend also links Saint Valentine to the stone, as he was said to have worn an amethyst ring carved with Cupid, making it the birthstone for February and a popular Valentines gift as well.
Dating to the mid-20th Century, this luxurious statement bracelet remains in excellent condition. It fastens securely with a hidden box clasp, cleverly concealed beneath the final amethyst to preserve the uninterrupted ribbon of vibrant gemstones.
