A grand vintage solitaire ring from the 1970s adorned with a luxurious oval cut amethyst weighing approx. 4.5ct with a deep, regal purple hue.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The stone is held in a 9ct gold bezel mount with roped edging and a coiling outer border. It’s a striking statement piece and complete with Birmingham hallmarks, dating to 1972.
