This packed vintage charm bracelet features twenty-five delightful charms suspended from a sterling silver curb-link bracelet, all richly gilded in warm 18ct yellow gold. It is secured with a heart-shaped padlock clasp and safety chain, bearing Birmingham hallmarks dating to 1971.
A true treasure trove of whimsy, the bracelet invites exploration through an enchanting collection of charms, each thoughtfully chosen to create a personal, playful diary. Highlights include a mollusc shell cradling a cultured button pearl, a girl on an articulated swing, an opening owl and a boot containing mice.
Several charms also offer intriguing clues to its original owner. A set of love keys spells out the name “Yvonne,” likely her name, while a “Cancer” charm suggests her zodiac sign. Two 21st birthday keys mark an important milestone, while a St. Christopher and a selection of exotic charms hint at a love of travel. A wedding bell, engagement ring set, and a holy bible containing a miniature Lord’s Prayer suggest a romantic union, perhaps with the sweetheart who first gifted her the keys.
A captivating 1970s collectable, this charm bracelet is a wonderful conversation piece ready to continue its story.
