An elegant pair of vintage drop earrings consisting of polished black onyx tops and long dropper’s bezel set with twinkling brilliant cut diamonds on top (approx. 0.05ct each) and a gleaming white cultured pearl at the bottom.
Onyx is an ancient stone, a form of chalcedony mostly known for its jet-black colouring and white bands but can also be found in a variety of other colours. It’s been used throughout the ages as a protective amulet of great strength and was said to bring courage to the wearer in dark times and dispel negative energy.
The settings and butterfly studs are all 14ct yellow gold and clash beautifully against the black onyx. They’re a dark and mysterious pair and look stunning dangling from each ear.
